Douglas County Courthouse Remodeling, Alexandria, Minnesota

A multiple phase program to upgrade the administrative capacity of all county functions.  Phase I centers on integrating contemporary cabling into the old courthouse complex built in 1898 and 1973, and on relocation of information services, land and water resources, and the county assessor's offices into space vacated by the relocation of county human services into the Douglas County Government Services Center across the street, and on consolidation of court administrative facilities in the original courthouse.

The Phase II project included relocating and updating (i.e. communications) the Attorney, Recorder, Treasurer and Auditor Departments both in the existing courthouse and the 1973 addition; a new Commissioner's Board Room and support spaces; plus a new entry vestibule addition that incorporated a new elevator.
