Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.

Bismarck, North Dakota

This project was a renovation to update the liturgical capabilities and an addition of the gathering space to this historic art deco cathedral built in 1941. The plan provided full handicapped accessibility, improved connections to an adjacent parochial school, and site improvements. The project received an award of merit for design excellence from the North Dakota Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1993, and a national award for design excellence in religious architecture from the Interfaith Forum on Religious Art and Architecture in 1994. The Cathedral project received the 2023 ND AIA Test of Time Award.
